Quotes
Why Are Historical Quotes Important?
Those people who reach the pinnacle of their careers and power generally see the world and it’s machinations from a very unique position, a position that most ordinary citizens can never experience.
Those same people make statements of a very profound nature backed up by their unique view of the workings of the world, the people who control and inhabit it.
As we read through the history of the world, the people and events that have shaped and moulded it into what it is today, we should take on board those words uttered from these powerful and influential people to begin to understand why we are what we are.
Send us a famous quote and we will include it in this page, email to sidewallfusion@sploggle.com

THE NAZIS
~~~Reich Marshall Herman Goering~~~
Luftwaffe (Air Force) Chief, President of Reichstag, Director “The Four Year Plan”.
“Naturally the common people don’t want war but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, that is easy”.
“All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same for any country”.
Goering committed suicide the day before his scheduled hanging by taking a cyanide pill that was smuggled into his cell. Goering’s suicide note read, “I would have no objection to being shot, but I think hanging is inappropriate for a man of my position”.
~ SideWallFusion says: Goering was dead right, we’ve seen this very method used many times since the end of WWII. No matter what you think of the NAZIS the fact remains, they were indisputably experts at propaganda and people manipulation.
~ SideWallFusion says:
Gandhi was born 2nd October 1869 and died 30th January 1948 after seeing his desire for Indian independence from Britain come to fruition in 1947. He began his non violent civil disobedience while an expatriate lawyer in South Africa, during the resident Indian community’s struggle for civil rights returning to India in 1915, he organized protests by peasants, farmers, and urban labourers concerning excessive land-tax and discrimination.
It’s interesting to note that he was protesting against the very things that Britain was foisting on his beloved India, that British authorities are foisting on its own population in present times.
